In Laguna Beach California Mrs Doris Murray Palmer wealthy divorcee died in a double tragedy with Adele Ritchie star and ex wife of Guy Bates Post. Autopsy finds Palmer shot twice. Police say Post shot Palmer in the back then killed herself after washing wounds and decorating the scene. Sheriff Jernigan notes Post planned surrender then returned to end her life nearby.

Four Burned When Match Drops Into Gasoline Can
Four members of a Memphis family were injured when a can of gasoline exploded in their combined home and shoe shop. Ivan W. Davin, 30, sustained burns to hands and face after dropping a lit match into the can. The blast occurred as he tried to smother the flames. Others suffered only light injuries.
