In a fragment from Capstight 1926, Adele Garrison details Adele’s domestic scene aboard a train where Katie, wild with emotion, confronts a brakeman and refuses to leave. The narrator coaxes Katie through a tense exit, carrying bundles amid a bustling station crowd and planning a safe uptown taxi ride.
The Walton League sponsored a Boy Scout contest requiring bird cage building and essay writing. Dost Lovelace won first prize a 3 Scout uniform. Charles Wise took second a pup tent. D Keltner third a Scout knife. Honorable mentions went to Ray Rhymes John T Zerre and Howard Griffin.
The plan offers four course levels with infantry artillery and cavalry instruction under General Hasvard. Washington March 19 Senator Howell Republican Nebraska told the senate the debt settlement with Italy abdicates Santa Claus duty to Europe. He argued cancellation of 2.15 billion principal and annual interest deficits totaling about 30.2 billion harms American interests and links debt settlements to international banks.
Chicago dispatch notes March storms defy sages with heavy snow and high winds. In Alexandria Louisiana, trees were uprooted, fences and signs toppled, and a plate glass window demolished as the storm swept in from the northeast then southwest.
A severe weather day left Houston with widespread damage and power outages, and Woodworth and Forest Hill reported structural impacts. Wind, rain, and hail crippled streets, wrecked plate glass, and halted streetcars while small craft warnings went out along Louisiana coasts. Two Texas oil field workers died in a derrick path incident near Liberty.
