Explosion in Chicago warehouse kills ten injures many

An explosion wrecked a southeast Chicago warehouse today killing ten and injuring many others. Police and fire crews reported bodies in the ruins and the cause remained unknown. The blast rattled blocks away and left a pile of timber and plaster as investigators weighed theories including bombing, gas mains, and fireworks.

Walker of Maude Okla stating he is advised that Lawrence Castle, indicted for his brother Clinton Walker’s murder by the Morehouse parish grand jury, has left Fairbanks. Garrett is investigating. Special to Monroe News-Star El Dorado March 29 reports Walter George well on Goodwin tract southwest of section 31 finished with estimates of 10 000 to 40 000 barrels, averaging 10 000 to 15 000. Armstrong No. 1 in 30-17-15/30-17-16 pending debut, 2204 feet deep. six-inch casing at 2068 feet, cap rock at 2185 feet. Lucky Six Syndicate Murphy No. 1 iced up awaiting storage tanks.
