Six year old Barbara Wiles was strangled with a skipping rope in the basement of a Bushwick six family home. Police, led by Commissioner Mulrooney, seek a nameless suspect after a neighbor reported a man seen fleeing the building.
The W. J. Riley Plumbing and Heating company of Monroe has been awarded the heating and plumbing contract for the new United States infantry barracks at Fort Benning Georgia. The project value is estimated at 90000 to 100000 dollars. Riley also notes prior major contracts including the Fayetteville Veterans Hospital project totaling 214000 dollars. London March 23. A court martial acquitted Lieutenant Norman Baillie-Stewart of three charges in the case of selling military information to a foreign agent. The judge advocate indicated the ninth count could be decisive. Baillie-Stewart claimed the 90 pounds received from Germany came from a girl named Marie Louise.
A 15 year old Hudson high student was arrested in Akron Ohio for sending two crude blackmail letters to Mrs. Charles A Lindbergh demanding 25000 dollars. He claimed he did not know the address and planned to mail the note to Mrs Lindbergh in Delaware or New York. Detected near the money drop site, he will be turned to juvenile authorities.
In Peiping on March 28 the Japanese charge d affaires received a note from U S minister Nelson I Johnson about the bombing of Taitonying on March 24. The blast damaged the residence of American missionary Charles Oscar Kautte and the Brethren Mission church.
Mrs Ora Anna Christi 49 wife of William Christi 69 cotton mill worker was beaten to death in bed at their Dallas home Tuesday. Her husband found her after work in the back yard. a two inch head wound caused death before doctors arrived. She was last seen alive when she went to a mailbox to mail a letter to her daughter in Knoxville Tenn. Christie worked three days weekly at the mills and was off Tuesday.

Texarkana Arkansas officers detain Tim Williams of Alexandria Louisiana for questioning in the February 24 holdup of the First National Bank at Hope Arkansas where 24000 dollars was stolen.
