Europe hopes that Italy and France will form a pact as Chamberlain faces restive debates in London. Reports note Italy’s stance amid growing fears of Hitler and potential German expansion.

Delegates pledged support to Eduard Benes and thanked President Roosevelt for not recognizing Hitler's seizure. About 100000 Czecho Slovakians live in the Pittsburgh area.
In Frostproof Florida on March 27 Miss Lillie Stoate, a self described rainmaker, sat beside Lake Reedy hoping to end a citrus drought. Rain finally fell in nearby areas including Gainesville Ocala St Petersburg Jacksonville Lakeland and Auburndale as citrus growers backed her efforts. She suggested rain elsewhere followed her vigil.
The court held states may tax salaries of federal workers, upholding tax reciprocity urged by President Roosevelt. Justice Stone stated the 1871 Collector v Day ruling on constitutional immunity from income taxes is overriden in this context. Justice Butler and McReynolds dissented in the New York case.
Eight people aboard the sedan were killed when it collided with a interurban bus in Los Angeles. Eight killed include Meyer Minkus and family members. eleven bus passengers were injured. Driver Andrew Torbet claimed the sedan skidded into the bus.
