Bastrop March 25 Shorty Defts implicated in the Bank of Collinston robbery on February 28 was brought from Shreveport Friday by Sheriff Carpenter. He was arraigned in Bastrop Saturday on an indictment charging robbery, pled guilty, and sentenced by Judge Ben C. Dawkins to 18 years in the penitentiary. The trial lasted about 10 minutes with J. B. Kol, G. W. Copeland and W. G. a%inn present.
