Artie Marshfield, arrested June 13 last year on illegal possession of marijuana, faces a fourth district court trial on the possession charge after the state dropped the selling charge. The measure provides 3.7 million dollars to fund a school program through June 30 1956 and closes a partisan rift by balancing Negro and white school costs. The session will adjourn April 7 after 13 weeks with House support expected.

Monroe Robert Trammel, 71, a vagrant, faced armed robbery charges after allegedly beating Richard H. Cane, about 60, unconscious with a club, then stealing $3 and a watch in Missouri Pacific yards. Cane was treated for a severe head wound and later released from Charity hospital.

Senate House Conference Committee voted to kill a Democratic proposal for a $20 per person income tax cut next year. Democrats yielded and accepted a Senate bill to extend present corporation income and excise tax rates for one year. The recommendation goes to the Senate floor this afternoon and to the House next Tuesday awaiting both chambers' approval.
