State fire marshals planned to investigate the blasts and fire that demolished a block of establishments in Triumph near the Mississippi River. Four people were hospitalized. damage exceeded 100000. The block included an orange winery, an insurance office, a loan office, and a home.

The measure aims to place the burden on consumers for deduction eligibility.

Nanette Salley two, daughter of Mr and Mrs T W Salley of 506 West Louisiana Avenue Ruston, is in critical condition at Highland Sanitarium Shreveport after falling from a car backed from a driveway by her grandmother Mrs Ann Adgate of Shreveport. The right wheel ran over her head, causing a basal skull fracture and internal bleeding. Nanette and her four year old brother Tommy were in the car. Tommy was not harmed.

William Morris of London was fined 10 shillings for driving a paint covered canvas on a private road without a license. He laid out a 40 by 14 foot canvas, spread 142 tubes of oil and two gallons of paint, and used a borrowed sports car to move across the surface at five miles per hour before backing into a street and breaking the law. Sergeant Major Gilbert A. Three stocking masked gunmen smashed into Busch & Sons Jewelry Store in downtown Newark and grabbed diamond rings valued up to 500000 dollars.
