The Wilson Drilling Company completed casing on Williams No 1 in Ouachita Parish. Cement will set for about ten days before drilling the plug. Outlook for oil production looks good as a second derrick is added at Henry Jand, four miles away. Tornado claims six in Northport stable incident

Northport residents recalled a fierce tornado crossing Main Street as six people died taking refuge in a stable. R B Ray, owner inside, was crushed while holding Wilbur Snyder’s hand, who escaped unharmed. Simonton Grain Warehouse Hit In West Monroe Robbery

Robbers broke into Simonton Grain Company at 204 Commerce Street West Monroe last night stealing tobacco valued around 250 dollars. Entry came via skylight and iron bars. 22 1/2 cartons of cigarettes three cases of pipe tobacco and 100 pounds chewing tobacco were removed through a side door. Night watchman in adjacent Varino Co building failed to hear the break due to high winds. Police Chief Hammonds led the investigation with fingerprinting by deputy sheriffs Roper and Cline.
