The American Mining Congress southern conference wrapped in Birmingham with R. G. Brown of Louisville Mississippi elected chairman of the board of governors. Delegates depart for tours of industrial sections around Birmingham and will visit Louisiana and Mississippi. Officers also include W. H. Sullivan Bogalusa La.
An engine explosion near St Peter Illinois in Fayette county killed three railroad workers. E M Robinson of Salem was an engineer Ed Bruce a fireman and C M Farlow head brakeman all of Villa Grove were aboard the freight engine at the time of the blast.

Miss Genivieve Crump committed death by her own hand in a Keatchie Louisiana hotel room. She had traveled with John D. Cox to attend a dance and planned to catch an early train. A coroner's verdict ruled the death as self-administered poison.
In Detroit on March 22 the judge ruled Aaron Sapiro's 1.09 million libel suit against Henry Ford needs multiple amendments for clarity before trial. The 21 counts and 569 paragraphs were criticized for insufficiency. amendments may be filed tomorrow as counsel agreed. Ford's editor W J Cameron testified in Detroit.
In Carmel New York Judge Seeger rules Edward W. Browning need not pay $300 weekly alimony to Peaches Browning 16 who wed the 52 year old real estate operator. Peaches and her mother lack funds for appeal as Browning calls the suit a defense of public justice while noting prior legal costs.
