Cotton Spinning Activity Reported by Census Bureau

The census bureau reports February cotton spinning activity at 8.22 billion active spindle hours or 233 hours per spindle, down from January’s 9.23 billion hours and 261 hours. February operated spindles totaled 39.20 million with 31.01 million used at some point, at 110.7 percent capacity on a single shift, versus January and February 1928 figures.
