Six persons lightly injured when four Dixie Flyer sleepers and day coaches derail after a broken rail on the Georgia Southern and Florida line twenty miles south of Macon. The Census Bureau announced that 466 932 running bales of cotton were consumed in February in the United States, including 23 091 bales of linters, compared with 533 251 in January and 455 287 in December. On February 28 the amount of cotton on hand was 4 209 559 bales, including 120 650 linters, versus 4 209 559 bales on January 31.
