Farmerville obituary notes Raymond Cranford, 45, died after a short illness. Services were led by Rev. Joe Lee and Rev. O J. Owens at Hopewell Baptist Church with burial in Laran Cemetery. Survivors include his widow Beverly Cranford, parents Lem and Mrs Cranford, two sons Billy Ray and Ronald Kim, daughter Lynette Ramsey, and siblings Ray Crawford and Ruden Crawford plus 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services for Ella A McVay 73 who died after a long illness were held at 3 p.m. in First Baptist Church with Rev N W Causey officiating. Burial followed in Forest Cemetery under Gay's Funeral Home supervision. Survivors include a son J D Avery and multiple daughters sisters brothers and step-relatives. Pallbearers listed.
Funeral services for Mrs. Ira Beatrice Waldroup 74 of 3406 Richmond Ave Monroe were conducted at 10 a.m. in Peters Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Troy Garrett and Rev. I L Yeager officiating. Burial followed at Riverview cemetery. She died at home after a long illness. A lifelong Monroe resident she was a Methodist.
William A. Doncer longtime Chicago resident dies in a city hospital after a long illness. Funeral services set for 10 a.m. Thursday at Nawn Funeral Home 7909 State Road Chicago with burial in a Chicago cemetery. Survived by widow Margaret a daughter Cathy brother Ray W Doncer of Monroe and three sisters Gert Gade Montana Ann Nowlan and Marge Ruby Chicago.
Funeral services for Mrs Julian S Mae Trezevant of Sterlington will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel with Rev Ray Raddin and Dr Thomas J Welch presiding. Burial will be in Old City cemetery. She died Monday after a short illness at 59. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sterling.

Elias A Holtzclaw 70 of near the Douglas Community died of a heart attack Monday afternoon after smoke from a grass fire at his residence. Funeral at 10 30 a m Wednesday New Hope Baptist Church Choudrant with interment in church cemetery. Survived by widow three sons Eugene Nelson John M Holtzclaw a sister Annie Calhoun three brothers Millard Lammie and Dewey Holtzclaw and seven grandchildren.
Mrs Alma Cora Gibbs age 89 died today in a Monroe hospital after a long illness. The service was at 10 a m Wednesday in Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel with Rev Loyd Williams officiating. She was a Monroe native and lifelong resident, charter member of Louise McGuire Chapter O E S, and an early Monroe telephone operator. She is survived by three grandchildren Lawrence Gibbs Mrs Herbert Funk and Mrs Elizabeth Ann Fernandez and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers named W H Dean Sidney Taylor Carl Paulus Aubrey Haywood Carl Thompson and George Woods.
J R McKnight aged 78 of 115 Copley West Monroe died this morning at a local hospital after a long illness. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and to be handled by Mulhearn Funeral Home. Surviving are his widow Virginia, two daughters Milfred Windham of Shreveport and Claire Singley of Monroe, three sisters Jessie Prudhome Rena Keator and Julie Gregg of Campti, and two others. He was a member of St Paschal's Catholic Church in West Monroe.
Robert L. Jacobs Jr 42 formerly of Monroe died early today in a Midwest City hospital. The funeral will be held at 10 a m Thursday at First Baptist Church Midwest City with Rev Fuqua officiating. Burial Sunny Lane Cemetery Midwest City. He is survived by his widow Mareldine two children Randell and Donna his parents Mr and Mrs Robert L Jacobs and two brothers Carl Wayne Jacobs of Delaware and George F Jacobs Monroe.
On St Patrick Day 1964 about 150000 paraders joined the Fifth Avenue march honoring the patron saint. President Johnson planned a dinner at the Waldorf Astoria and a helicopter trip to Kennedy and Andrews bases. Mayor Wagner sat out after his wife’s death, and the green center stripe was absent for the first time in a decade. The Ancient Order of Hibernians kept the parade on as scheduled.
The Louisiana Supreme Court on Monday refused writs in multiple cases including Graham v Hartford and Wilson v Emfinger from Tensas Parish and Chalmette Finance Corp v All American Assurance Co of La in Orleans Parish. Writs were granted in Diesel Equipment Corp v Epstein and Russell v Employers Mutual Liability Ins Co of Wisconsin in Orleans and Caddo parishes respectively.
In Brownsville, Brooklyn, two men broke into an apartment on Pitkin Avenue and a shotgun blast killed Nora Smith, 5, in her mother's arms. The woman's boyfriend Leonard Hollins, 26, and his brother Herman Hollins, 23, also died. Police named Thurman Willis as a suspect amid jealousy motives and sought a man identified as the mother's ex-boyfriend.
