Baton Rouge March 15 as LSU announces 171 students are cited for the high honors list for the first semester. 26 earned straight A averages of 93 to 100 percent while 145 achieved a 2.5 to 3.0 average. Frances Leggio Baton Rouge law senior leads with an A in all subjects and is valedictorian of the current senior law class.

Three Grass Fires Extinguished By Monroe Firefighters
Three grass fires within the same hour were extinguished by Monroe firemen yesterday afternoon. The first call came from 106 Fairview drive at 3 10 p m. A second fire near Mississippi and Reed streets and another near Spurgeon drive and Desiard street were reported about 15 minutes apart.
