Former Monroe Youth Dies After Derrick Fall at Hope
Otis T. Young a former Monroe resident and derrick man at Shaw and Shaw well near Hope Arkansas fell eighty five feet from the rig while exiting with pipe. He suffered chest injuries and a broken arm and died fifteen hours later at Josephine hospital. His body was sent to Winnsboro for burial.

Architect J. W. Smith of Monroe designs a First Baptist church annex in this city at a cost of 75000. Plans will be submitted for church approval in about ten days. Trustees vote to build a community center and greatly enlarge the auditorium to seat 1500, up from 800. The new annex will be three stories plus basement.

El Dorado March 16. Caddo Central crews prepare to cut and extinguish a gasser near the city on the Midsouth Oil and Gas Syndicate E and W No 1.
