Police jury will not spend bond funds on Brayvon Bestard Bridge project. Officials affirm loan 10 will finance construction while preserving existing bridge program.
In the regular session the Police Jury authorized borrowing 15000 to build a reinforced concrete bridge across Bayou DeSiard on the Monroet Farmerville road. Dr R W O'Donnell was named parish health officer succeeding Dr Wright. Inspectors' pay for tick eradication work was raised from 75 to 100. The parish pledged two mill bridge tax proceeds for 1919 and 1920 to secure the loan, with bids to be opened April 4. The last of about 50000 in parish obligations was paid.
Chairman Creel of the Committee on Public Information sent President Wilson a protest against the War Department policy of withholding soldiers addresses in casualty lists. The committee refuses to handle the lists issued now, saying they are valueless to newspapers for publication.
