Frankfurt Gunman Seizes Hostages At Courthouse

A gunman at the Frankfurt courthouse seized two hostages and demanded 3.2 million dollars and passage on a jetliner to Cuba. He also asked for a helicopter or bullet proof vehicle to reach Frankfurt airport as police sealed the area. The hostages included a court employee and a juror in the Linden bank vehicle case.

Mrs. Willie J. Harris dies long-time Monroe probation officer

Mrs. Willie J. Harris, 80, of 115 Texas Ave Monroe, retired juvenile probation officer for Ouachita parish, dies after short illness. A Requiem Mass is set for 10 30 a m Wednesday at St Alban s Episcopal Church Monroe. Funeral arrangements are by Mulhearn Funeral Home. She leaves a daughter Mildred Duggins a son Dallas Wales two sisters six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Memorials are requested to St Alban s Church.
