In Clarksdale Mississippi C P Harpole a 26 year old levee worker was jailed on a complaint by Mrs Trannie Harbin of Friarpoint she and her household had been threatened because they objected to Harpole proposal to Essie Harbin not quite 14 years old The girl attends school at Friarpoint Mrs Harbin filed a formal objection with the circuit court leading to the clerk denying a marriage license Harpole was taken into custody on a charge of threatened breach of the peace.

Chicago reports gambler and alleged gambling boss West Side Frankie Pope was killed at 758 West Jackson Boulevard.
