Alonzo Robinson alias James H. Coyner, a convicted grave robber and slayer, was hanged at the Bolivar County jail after a seven hour trip from Jackson. Guards with bayonets surrounded the jail as the trap dropped him at 3 58 a m. He grimaced and refused last questions, saying there was no preacher to pray with him. Witnesses described the rain slick turnout and the body lowered to a wooden box for burial at the county poor farm.
