Attorney General Coco arrived in Bastrop to present to the Morehouse parish grand jury the state's evidence from an open January hearing on a string of kidnappings floggings and other offenses by masked bands in the area last summer. Wyoming land board bids on five year Salt Creek lease
The Wyoming state land board, during a public meeting in Cheyenne, received bids for a five year operating lease on sections 36 47 79 in the Salt Creek field. The lease would begin October 1 1924 when the current section held by the Mid West Oil Company expires. Experts say the area is the world’s richest petroleum region.

Child Slayer Electrocuted at Rockview Penitentiary
