North Viet Nam fires missiles as Laos fighting widens
North Vietnam launched SAM2 surface to air missiles at three U.S. planes over Laos and Cambodia, the U.S. Command reported. In Laos heavy combat continued with 30 American helicopters downed since Feb. 8, eight shot down on Tuesday alone, one crew member killed, seven wounded and eight missing. Saigon announced 2,000 Marines were added to the Laotian operation, bringing allied strength to 18,000.
