Estate of Rich Woman Settled in New York Surrogate Court
In York the surrogate court signed an order settling Ella V. Wendel estate and approved an agreement among executors and nine heirs not named in the will. The nine accepted more than two million dollars to drop probate challenges claiming Miss Wendel was insane.

The debate centers on a 30 hour work week and a minimum wage push. Green argues for a 30 hour five day week with a $14 to $16 wage, and potential $17.48 if prices return to 1926 levels. Textile leaders offer an $11 north, $10 south minimum with 36 to 40 hour weeks. Sidney Hillman backs shorter days and $0.50 minimum.
