Prague radio announced that four persons were executed for treason and espionage. Milada Horakova, former woman member of parliament, Jan Buchal former security policeman, Zavis Kalandra newspaperman, and Oldrich Peel former mine owner were named as the executed. Born Covington Virginia February 25 1863 she taught Sherman public schools for nearly fifty years and served as principal of Jefferson and Robert E Lee schools. She was Mary Nash College Columbia University Baldwin University graduate and among her students was wife of Governor Thomas A Dewey. She was member of Dixie Chapter O E S and First Christian Church. She leaves son Paul J Newman and four sisters three grandchildren and one great grandchild.
