A bolt of lightning hit a large sycamore in the front yard of Postmaster James Wooten on 2111 South Grand Street shortly after 2 PM on Saturday. Passengers on a Lover's Lane bus felt the shock and feared a bus strike. Mrs. Wooten witnessed the event from an upstairs room.
