Jersey City Executive Arrested on Warrant and Held for Contempt

A Jersey City executive was arrested last night on a warrant served by the sergeant at arms. He was held for contempt after refusing to answer ten questions about his wealth.

Hague freed from custody after New Jersey inquiry

Vice-Chancellor John J. Allen released Mayor Frank Hague of Jersey City from legislative custody following his refusal to answer ten questions about his wealth sources. Hague had been arrested for contempt of the New Jersey legislature and held in jeopardy of a writ of habeas corpus, with a hearing set after a brief detainment.

Governor Accepts Resignation of Felix Delaune

Baton Rouge June 25. Gov Huey P Long accepted the resignation of Representative Felix Delaune of St Charles parish effective immediately. Delaune, 60, cited no reason, had been in his second term and tied to the impeachment probe through addiction injuries. Boulder Dam Bill Goes Into Operation

President Hoover signed a proclamation making operative the Boulder Dam act. It sets a six state negotiation window to form a Colorado river compact among six states, with Arizona remaining dissenting. Declaration of Principles of League Will Be Issued

In New Orleans on June 25 the executive committee will issue a declaration of the principles of the Constitution League of Louisiana. Former Governor John M. Parker addressed the session and repeated that he is not a candidate for office and the League must be non factional and patriotic. Veteran Pilot Killed as Northwest Plane Crashes Here

A Northwest Airways flight from Chicago crashed in St Paul killing 38 year old Eddie Middagh of Minneapolis who burned to death when the ship caught fire. Seven others were injured five seriously as the plane struck a house, witnesses said engines stopped after takeoff and Middagh tried to return to the field. The accident ended Northwest’s two year run without a mishap after 9 million miles flown.

Confessed Sixth Grade Boy Says He Killed Father

Otis Hawkins fourteen confesses to shooting his father Wes W. Hawkins sixty at their Pine Bluff Arkansas home after his father allegedly fussed at him.
