Progress noted in industry plan under N R A
Washington June 23 Hugh S Johnson head of the National Recovery administration said the work of bringing industry into trade agreements was moving faster than he expected. Only two industries cotton textiles and oil pipe have presented formal codes for approval. A consumers board will be set up with labor and industry boards to advise before the Tuesday hearing on the textile code. He warned against price fixing and said he would intervene if costs are not respected. He did not favor the licensing feature and stressed self policing to curb violations. He praised the coal industry as cooperative and said he plans to add staff to stabilize the oil sector.
