Betin Heights Protest Fails as Zoning Changes Move Forward
Monroe planning commissioners spent hours reviewing seven proposals including a zoning swap around Betin Heights 200 unit complex and adjacent Booker T. Washington lands. Residents backed a B-1 transition zone but the panel approved reclassifications to B-3 and B-1, sending the matter to the city council for final approval while new R-2 zoning proposals faced delays and objections.
