About 35 to 40 tire and battery dealers in Monroe and West Monroe met with NRA field adjuster T. S. Hickman at the Chamber of Commerce to discuss trade practices. The group, already under a code for hours and wages, aimed to set a price schedule and form an organization to refine practices. Hickman noted many complaints over alleged code violations, mainly on wages and hours, but many informants gave no signed statements. He said many employers cooperated and adjustments were made where possible.
