Baton Rouge Man Burned To Death In House Fire
John Wieck died in a Baton Rouge hospital from burns after a fire swept a downtown two story dwelling early today. Five passing motorists including three state legislators aroused occupants Annie Wieck and Beatrice Woods and pulled them to safety. Rescue was led by Sen. J. M. Roy and Reps. Mayo Blanchet and Richard Bertrand of Lafayette. Wieck’s body was found still inside as funeral plans were being made. The fire’s cause was not yet determined.
