Funeral at Monroe First Christian Church Sunday at 2 30 p m with burial in Little Rock Ark. Survived by son Willard Eckhardt Winnsboro and daughters Nola Heisserer Little Rock and George W Morgan Monroe. Hixon Brothers Funeral Home in charge.

Erika Krebs a 20 year old Sudeten German girl was sentenced to life in prison by a five man American military tribunal for the murder of Sgt. Robert E. Flanigan of Peoria Illinois. Trial followed two days of testimony and nine days after the shooting.

A boxcar broke loose from a switching crew in San Bernardino California and sped through the town at about 70 miles per hour. It crossed 14 grade crossings and endangered passengers before being stopped by Engineer Hugh Donahue who throttled downstream and braked to a stop in the Santa Fe yards. Both boxcars and the locomotive couplings were smashed and no injuries were reported.
William H. Hart, a 16 year old veteran cowboy actor, was reported in critical condition at California Lutheran Hospital. Dr. H. D. Van Fleet said he was occasionally in a coma and under treatment for several days in Los Angeles.
