In Portsmouth Ohio on June 21 a wife, Mrs Ethel Pusateri, shot and killed a woman, Ermatrude Batterson McCoy, 28, and seriously wounded her husband August Pusateri, 46, after finding them in the house with their daughter Nancy. Mrs Pusateri faces second degree murder charges.
Jackson Mississippi police investigate an attack on Holt Ross a state labor organizer and weekly newspaper publisher who said three unidentified men lured him by phone to a south Jackson location he was bound gagged beaten and left in a lane before a threatening postal note arrived at his printing shop warning others who criticize the banking system.
In Harrisonburg Louisiana on June 21 skeletons of prehistoric mound builders were unearthed by explorers in Catahoula parish. The find includes seven foot tall bones from a grave on a mound at Lake Lake.
