Bright View Seen For State Soybeans

Louisiana soybean producers enjoy a strong market as Dr. Reid M. Grigsby of the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service notes a bright outlook. He warns that producing beyond demand could lower prices and that 1966-67 may see rising production. Prices at portside elevators reach about 3.15 per bushel, with meal demand lifting soybean values. Domestic production and exports support higher prices, while carryover remains about 50 million bushels, possibly risking a bean shortage if crush and exports stay elevated.
