West Monroyan Saves Life At Camp

West Monroyan will be recommended for a medal for saving a man at the Citizens Military Training camp in Alexandria. Life guard Arthur W. Cruikshank Jr pulled Ralph E. Preveau from drowning after cramps, aided by the camp staff and Dr Abe Mickal. Cruikshank, 20, of West Monroe, resides at 812 Pine Street and is with Company B C M T C battalion. He recently graduated from Northeast Junior College and is headed for the merchant marine.
