America’s Stand on Stabilization Hinges on Roosevelt
The United States will join a permanent stabilization only when President Roosevelt deems timing right. Officials say his disapproval of the first plan stemmed from method, not opposition to stabilization. He aims for domestic prices near 1926 levels before action and resists any accord that would limit his ability to curb inflation if needed.
