Monroe's Oldest Home Moves to New 80 Acre Site
Monroe's O'Kelly house, a 18th century Louisiana plantation dwelling, is being moved in three sections over six miles to an 80 acre tract on Horseshoe Lake Road. Owners Travis and Sally Oliver of Houston plan to restore its original appearance and install central heat and air, preserving cypress features, gardens, and historic artifacts from the O'Kelly era.
