President Wilson plans to leave Paris for Washington around June 24 25 to address Congress on the treaty and the League of Nations covenant. After clearing official business he will embark on a three week speaking tour in July visiting principal cities nationwide.
In Mexico City on June 18 the Associated Press reports the government did not release any statement about American troop crossings into Juarez. General Gonzales said his forces could have defeated Villistas without U S aid and the remark was noted at military headquarters.
In Jones County near Ellisville a Black man, John Hartfield, accused of assaulting a girl Sunday night is surrounded in a swamp near Avery. Reports say his capture is momentarily expected and a lynching is anticipated in Jackson Mississippi.
In Paris on June 17 the Turkish delegation led by Damad Ferid Pasha was received by the Wouen of Ten of the Peace Conference in the cloak room of the Quai d Orsay. The party traveled from Van and was accompanied by French officers.

Paris June 17 A majority of Peace Conference members doubt Germany will sign the treaty according to Parcel Hutin of Echo de Paris who canvassed leading figures. Only one of three leaders thinks Germany would sign the revised accord, based on yesterday’s Council of Four discussion of consequences if Germany refused.
