Monroe Man Dies In Highway 80 Crash Near Rayville
A 62 year old Monroe man Robert J Gilbert died instantly when his car rear ended a pulp wood truck on Highway 80 at Giraud three miles west of Rayville. The crash occurred about 445 am as an oncoming truck passed the pulpwood truck forcing the Nelson truck to brake. Gilbert was alone and no charges were filed pending investigation. Funeral plans are with Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe. He is survived by his widow Mamie Gilbert a son Bobby Joe Gilbert in Japan a daughter Rex Landry in Houston and a brother Money Gilbert of Arizona.
