Rhodes for 10600 and other parcels changing hands including blocks in Ma Place, Lake DeSiard area, and adjacent subdivisions with prices around 1060 and 5500 plus mortgage assumptions. In the July 12 session the Fourth District Court in Monroe will continue efforts to purchase a Grammon Street lot for drainage canal right of way. The land at Grammon and North 29th Street is owned partly by Graham Murray and local residents. The Ouachita Parish Clerk of Court records show Graham is out of state and the city has purchased waifs of the property for 310 dollars from the co owners.

In Richmond Virginia thirty cows at Max Zaitz dairy farm were electrocuted when they approached an 11 000 volt downed power line. The incident occurred Monday as cows investigated the line and were killed one by one.

Funeral services for 87 year old C A W Murphy of Calhoun were set for 2 p m Tuesday in West Monroe chapel with Rev W C Elmore officiating. Interment followed at Old Beulah cemetery under Kilpatrick's direction. Survived by widow Mrs C H Murphy of Calhoun one son O R Murphy Smackover Ark two daughters Evelyn Edgar Monroe and Ola Taylor West Monroe nine grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren Pallbearers were Jim Finklea Benton Gross Cilo Taylor Monroe Edgar Roy Idgar and J E Bryan.
