Vacation Bible Schools Open At Churches

Two youths arrested for check forgery in Ouachita Parish
Woodrow Headrick age 19 of 203 Mitchell Jane West Monroe and Rubin Harris 17 alias Jack Harris of Syl, rena Miss were jailed charged with forgery and uttering forged checks. Police stopped them Sunday after a station attendant notified Monroe police of a suspected forged check. Headrick admitted forging names S B Rogers and S B Rogers Jr to four checks totaling 16.25 and cashing them at a bank and filling station.

A blaze yesterday nearly destroyed the Washington theater at Washington avenue and Magazine street. Damage is estimated at 11000 with the origin undetermined. One fireman was slightly injured. no other injuries reported. The Washington theater is the second large neighborhood movie house to burn in a month, following the Capitol theater downtown.
