Special to The News Star Dallas Texas June 14 1917 appeals for funds to support the Federal Reserve Bank loan drive. The message describes wartime casualties and urges public contributions to aid Allied nations, claiming moral duty and faith in American leadership and allied victory.
Italian mission members arrived in New Orleans on June 14 and were greeted by crowds and a general committee. Large crowds in streets greeted them as they toured the region. In Washington on the same day cotton consumption for May reached 615171? and ten month total 5,604,570 bales.
London reports a blast in the Ashton manufacturing town near Manchester leaving about fifty dead and many injured as rescue and investigation efforts begin.
