Washington June 12. Admiral Gleaves director of the overseas transport and convoy service is credited with directing and managing the movement of men and munitions to Europe under naval convoy. His leadership helped transport hundreds of thousands of soldiers and ships of supplies across mine strewn seas. He has a long career from the Spanish American War to the present war and has held key torpedo and destroyer commands.
