Humphries Pushes Road Completion From Monroe to Buckhorn Bend
State Representative T. W. Humphries of Monroe urged Gov. Edwards to back completing U. S. 165 By-Pass in Ouachita Parish from U. S. 15 south for about three miles. He says the project serves a large residential area and farm-to-market trade and would cost roughly 550 000 with a 10 percent variation. Traffic counts show 10 000 daily past Tichill Road and 6 500 and 4 900 at Richwood and Buckhorn Bend. he expects a rise of at least 2 000 daily at those intersections. He sent copies of the request to District Five engineer Aubrey Braddock, Sen. W. D. Brown, Monroe City Council, and the highway department chair.
