Army generals catch big eagle during Bataan fishing

Maj. Gen. Albert M. Jones, head of the American advisory mission to the Philippines, reeled in an eight-foot wingspan eagle off Bataan while fishing. Brig. Gen. Frank D. Merrill aided, the eagle took a live bait morsel, and the line ripped 500 feet from the reel.

Negro confesses to pool hall robbery and safe attempt

A Negro youth, Robert Allen, 22, confessed to police Thursday his role with L. B. Lavender in burglarizing Jim Bennett's pool hall at 1022 North Sixth Street and attempting to force a safe at a Dental Vu service station. Citations recount$13 and $2.23 stolen. A. L. Bradley released after Allen's admission. Lavender claimed Bradley innocent. The case was solved by sheriff's department and police.
