Baptist School Teachers Named for First Baptist VBS
The First Baptist Church daily vacation Bible school opened Monday with L. A. Stulce as principal and Charles Payne as assistant principal. A full staff includes department superintendents, teachers, pianists, and secretaries across Beginners to Intermediate groups. Attendance has reached about 200 daily, with strong interest noted.

Stonewall lodge Knights of Pythias will initiate the largest class in years Thursday night at 7 p.m. The ceremony will proceed in the Esquire rank with A. W. Trotter, chancellor commander, urging a large attendance for the formal event.

Slight Stroke Suffered By Prohibition Leader
Word from Shreveport reports that Dr. A. W. Turner executive secretary of the Louisiana Legislative Prohibition league and a Shreveport Methodist minister suffered a mild paralytic stroke on Monday. His bedside reports say he is rallying and hoped to make a full recovery. Turner is known in Monroe and has spoken here many times during his prohibition work. Friends note he had recently recovered from a serious illness that kept him bedridden for weeks.
