Senate approves OAS aid voice in Latin American military help
The Senate voted 91 to 0 to give the Organization of American States a decisive voice in channeling U.S. military aid to Latin American countries. The measure authorizes $25 million of the $55 million for Latin American military aid to support an inter American force under OAS control and requires other aid be furnished to the maximum extent feasible per joint OAS plans.
