Police in Jackson Mississippi await the first Freedom Fly-In as jail populations rise with Freedom Riders expected. A CORE spokesman said three African American travelers would fly from St Louis to Jackson to test airport terminal facilities and segregation policies.
In St. Louis Charles R. Oldham of CORE said the planned Jackson Mississippi airport terminal seating test remains slated for 2 55 p m CDT with three volunteers from the St. Louis area. The trio Ralph Washington 25 of Webster Groves Robert Jenkins 27 and Gwendolyn Jenkins 21 depart Lambert Field on a Delta flight and land in Jackson at 4 55 pm Jackson time.
At Washington a CORE spokesman said seven Negro and two white students from the area would fly to New Orleans and then travel by bus to Jackson to join the movement. Seven Freedom Riders took a bus from New Orleans to Jackson.
Detroit leaders of Tractors for Freedom study Fidel Castro’s latest cable offering 1 200 Cuban prisoners for 500 American tractors. The group delays reply pending translation and official confirmation from Castro’s government.
Clarence Thibodeaux 19 and Emory LeBlanc 24 died when two lion aviation service trucks collided head on during return trips from Basile and Elton to Welsh Louisiana. Investigators described the crash as occurring on a straight stretch and burning fuel set both vehicles ablaze.

In Geneva AP reports the United States urged the Soviet Union to allow Moscow citizens full access to the American British draft treaty on banning nuclear tests. Arthur H. Dean pressed for public access as talks on a East West arms control stalemate. Tsarapkin dismissed the Western draft as nothing new.
Washington UPI report says directors of the Prince Georges County Boys Clubs will enforce a segregation bylaw by ousting eight Negro boys from the Cheverly affiliated unit. Executive director Joseph W. Vernon will present letters to parents and seek board approval. He offers to help establish an all Negro club and notes two existing clubs are already all black.
The United States said it will not collapse the Geneva conference on Laos but will push for a cease fire. State Department officials blame violations by the Communist side and note possible shifts if the royal Lao government falls to rebels. The meeting was paused as delegates awaited instructions.
In Jerusalem AP reports a noted Jewish writer born in Poland, Yechiel Di-Noor, identified as K. Zetnik, fainted during testimony about Auschwitz at Adolf Eichmann’s trial. The prosectorate introduced him, and the audience reacted as he described his two years in the camp and his work The House of Dolls.
