No Time For Haymakers On Calendar With Mailer And Algren
CBS TV promised a serious discussion of U.S. literature with Norman Mailer and Nelson Algren on Calendar but the segment ran about 12 minutes per guest and felt rushed. The piece criticized TV’s limits on intellectual conversation and urged fuller, proper settings for writers to present their work.
