Harlan labor trial nears end of third week
In London Kentucky on June 3 the Harlan labor trial moves toward its third week with tension as the defense accuses a federal agent of intimidation to influence witnesses. Attorneys fight over a contempt citation for agent J M O Leary related to arrests of Merle Middleton and Lee Hubbard former deputies charged with conspiring to suborn perjury. The defense seeks witnesses mid trial arguing no bill of particulars was filed by the government. This comes as a complete surprise.
