Chris Slavant 63 of 110 South Fourth Street died in a Monroe hospital early Thursday. Funeral at St Matthew's Church Friday at 3 30 p m with Rt Rev Msgr J C Marsh officiating. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Slavant a Greece native came to the U S at 13, operated cafes and bakeries including Busy Bee Crystal Grill Monroe Cafe and Chris Bakery. Survived by wife Angelina Cascio four children Lula Mae Scira Nick J C and James Edward one brother Tom Slavant and cousins Angelo Kenelos and Frank Palmas.
