Baptists Approve Peace Statement At Convention
Fifteen thousand delegates of the Southern Baptist Convention approved a watered down peace statement on Vietnam. The vote followed a debate between factions favoring preaching over social action and included a added sentence stressing just and honorable peace without withdrawing forces. The convention reelected Rev. Dr. H Franklin Paschall as president and adopted a $26.7 million budget.
